A local heirloom bean we received several years ago from farmer Jerry Baird of Lakeview Farm in Bean Station, TN. Small, oval beans with a light tan base and swirls of darker brown that appear to be a quick-maturing, striped, cut-short Appalachian stick bean. Best as a shelly bean or as a dry bean. Dry beans make a great pinto bean substitute. Healthy, drought-resistant pole beans with short vines to 5’. 66-68 days
