We obtained our original seedstock of this variety from Sustainable Mountain Agricultural Center, originally in KY and now in NC. We know little about its origins except that it originally comes from Eastern KY. Jack Kelly Butterbean is a very vigorous pole lima bean that excels in heat and drought.
