Lettuce, Sierra Summercrisp

Sierra lettuce was released by Vilmorin in 1992. It has gained quite a following in recent years for its heat, drought, and bolt resistance. Sierra lettuce is a classic Batavian lettuce: medium-large, heavy heads with slightly ruffled, bright green, crisp leaves that have some red markings. Sierra lettuce has a sweet flavor with only the slightest hint of bitterness, even in the heat of the summer. Heads keep well once harvested.
