Farm Original! Xiye Butternut Squash is the result of many years of on-farm butternut squash breeding at Care of the Earth Community Farm. Xiye butternut squash look like a larger version of Ofelia: slightly bulbous, slightly ribbed, 5 pound, dark tan skinned butternut-shaped squash. (Variations to this standard include longer necks, slightly curved necks, and more ribbing - which is why we call it a gene pool.) Plants have high resistance to Downy Mildew and are very productive, outproducing all other open-pollinated butternut squash in several comparison trials.
